The Club
The New Westminster Tennis Club was established in 1890 at the corner of Carnarvon and Blackwood Street, the club's original courts were grass. In 1901 the club moved to its current location in Tipperary Park at Third Street and Royal Avenue where play was on clay courts. The courts and clubhouse remained unchanged until 1982 when the clay courts were replaced with hard courts. In 1986 the clubhouse was renovated and in 1988 lights were added to the courts. In 1996 a new clubhouse was built. The New Westminster Tennis Club now possesses a strong membership base and a rich and long history. The New Westminster Tennis Club is a private club with member only access, offering great value with only a yearly fee (no court fees or other charges) to play as much as you want (until 11pm each night).
Facility
The New Westminster Tennis Club has four year round outdoor hard courts that are lit for evening tennis and a modern clubhouse with amenities that include a viewing deck, lounge area, kitchen and change rooms with showers.
